&lt;p>The bulk photovoltaic effect belongs on one promising nonlinear optics process that converts light field into a static electric current or voltage. Our group has been devoted into this field for a few years, focusing on its emergence in various quantum materials such as ferroelectrics, topological insulators, (anti-)magnets, and helimagnets. Invited by the Advanced Materials, we wrote a Review article that describe the basic concept, mechanism, experimental evidences, and future challenges on the bulk photovoltaic effect.
